Stills from the My Week with Marilyn:
Marilyn Monroe is coming to the UK to work with Laurence Olivier. Hollywood film star exhausts the British system Stanislavsky and flirts with the assistant director, who has devoted his weekly friendship with Monroe for two autobiographical novel. Offspring of high-ranking British humanist intellectuals Colin Clark (Eddie Redmayne) argues that "many professions but beautiful all the movies - who came into this world - forever become happy." The young man went to London, where he hired free gofer in the production company, the outstanding British actor Laurence Olivier (Kenneth Branagh). Lawrence begins shooting the comedy "The Prince and the Showgirl" in which his partner must be located in the zenith of fame young Hollywood film star Marilyn Monroe (Michelle Williams). Firmly seated on anti-depressants and the Stanislavsky system, this whimsical whiny blonde constantly disrupts shooting, and to relieve loneliness befriends Colin. The film is based on real events described by Clarke in two autobiographical novels. In a poem "Oh, Kennedy!", Translated into many languages of the world, the famous poet-date-garde Miroslav Nemiroff described Marilyn Monroe: "The Woman with the plight, tender, though a movie star." Perhaps this line and limited image of the great actress, who draws us to the film "7 days and nights with Marilyn" (original naming sounds modest - "My Week With Marilyn"). This year marks fifty years since that day, as one of the most famous women of the twentieth century, which has become an icon of Pop Art and Pin-up girl, passed away tragically and mysteriously. It is a pity that the fiftieth anniversary of the death did not become a pretext to remove about Marilyn Monroe's something more interesting than just another set of stamps. Michelle Williams, despite the makeup and the corresponding antics resembles not so much Marilyn Monroe as Soviet actress Hope Rumyantsev ("Girls", "Queen of the petrol station") and Svetlana Nemolyaeva ("Office Romance"). The point, however, is not the case, and that Michel completely devoid of inherent charisma and enthusiasm Monroe, without which everything that happens on the screen seems dull and faded. The filmmakers indifferent sneer over the dream to play Marilyn Grushenka from "The Brothers Karamazov", laughed at her enthusiasm Stanislavsky system ... In fact, Monroe was a student of Michael Chekhov, who started the Hollywood actor's school, and the Stanislavsky system studied in school Lee Strasberg, and it does not prevented her from doing its job. Marilyn was not a fool undereducated - almost all of his spare time she devoted to reading classical literature, which deeply and seriously discussed in his correspondence with friends. Dostoevsky, indeed, was her favorite writer - hence his dream to play the heroine. She even visited in 1960, the Soviet Union - under his real name Norma Jeane Baker. It happened during a break between filming the movie "Let's make love" with Yves Montand, which took place in Paris. Maybe someday, and this story will remove the feature film, well, if he is more interesting than the "7 days and nights with Marilyn."
