Stills from the The Perks of Being a Wallflower:
Drama growing charismatic outsider, fully imbued which will probably only those who are brought up on American culture. For all other it's just a good excuse to indulge in nostalgia - or feel ownership if nostalgia is not yet put on age. 15-year-old Charlie (Lerman) - shy boy from those who are in the company of peers prefer to blend with the furniture. The family, however, too, aided by the presence of the beautiful sisters (Dobrev) and his older brother - a successful athlete. Some semblance of communication - through letters - Charlie supports only with an imaginary friend, as the real recently committed suicide. Given all this, the first year in high school does not promise any particular hero amenities, but it suddenly take in his company-senior guys - as a kind of outsiders, but violent. The basis for the tape of the American writer, producer, writer and director Stephen Chbosky had his eponymous novel. The book was first published in 1999, immediately became a bestseller adolescent and a decade later even appeared in the lists of "most challenging literary works" because it raised the themes of drugs and homosexuality. Sounds, I must say, it is much more dramatic than it really is: in fact, and the novel itself, and shot at him a gift that affect the film really sharp questions, but they do it with such a timid caution that the rating "16+" (in the foreign box office " 13+ ") seems to reinsurance. In this sense, even the iconic hyuzovsky "Club" Breakfast "," to which "The Perks of Being a Wallflower" won several flattering comparisons, looks much tougher - Gaius Germanicus hateful. In some age limit tape might need, perhaps only because through the storyline with the aunt of the protagonist, but here the director proved himself a genius innuendo that the essence of the tragic incident will be revealed only in the final, and even then not for everyone. Strictly speaking, it is hard to escape the feeling that, Chboski, all this is not so important - well, you tried to crap, well, kissed his friend, well, slept not with those with whom really wanted. This, if not mandatory, it is quite a natural part of growing up - what happened happened, spit and grind. "Quiet" in any case is not about fear and hatred in the school walls, this movie is too saturated with nostalgic warmth with which the author returns to the youth. And, like any recollection, he does not carry any obvious moral (if not taken as such, to put it mildly not a new idea that life with all sorts of nice friends than without them). He, as a whole, about the fact that in 16 all we can conquer the world, is wanted, and let's try to disagree.
