Critic's response:
Ely (Christina Aguilera) - hereditary farmer working part time as a waitress in a diner provincial suddenly declines apron includes a tape recorder and displays strong deep voice solo. Then with one suitcase travels to Los Angeles and finds club "Burlesque." Yet again the waitress. Overwhelmed by the quality of Gdańsk show and regal view of its owner Tess (Cher), Eli rushes to the scene, but she gently give the heave-ho. Tess has more important concerns: the club may sell for debt handsome millionaire Marcus (Eric Dane). In anticipation of wonderful twists of fate Eli smartly warp between the tables and befriends the bartender Jack (Cam Gigandet), who, of course, also handsome, but poor. But writes beautiful songs. All that overshadows the new life of Ely, concentrated in Nikki (Kristen Bell), take "Burlesque", drinking, bitchy and quirky lady. When all the characters have more or less identified, further the plot can be predicted in detail, but it's "Burlesque" does not spoil, rather the opposite. This is a full-length video of Christina Aguilera plus a couple of numbers from Cher. He is adorable and gorgeous. He shines and shimmers with rhinestones. He does not claim to social satire, such as "Chicago". He does not construct a more or less plausible psychological relationships within a difficult (creative and female) staff as "Shougerlz." "Burlesque" just does his job - he sings and dances, and in a short break between classes eternal retells a story that somehow does not bother with a happy ending, which was looking forward to the first time. Entertains, in general, and successfully.
