The American government is hunting for small sharpie-psychic from Las Vegas (Nicolas Cage) who is able to look into the future and can help in the fight against nuclear terrorism. In the first half of his paintings catch and convince cooperate. Surrendered seer, apparently, knows that will die but not now (the last film directed by Tamahori was just the corresponding series of James Bond), and actor Cage traditionally sad during the sniper attacks, helicopter attacks and fights on the logs. All this patriotic plot is borrowed from Philip K. Dick short story "The Golden Man", though very selectively. Dick his Nostradamus described as follows: perfect (God descended to earth!), But impenetrably stupid (completely missing the frontal lobes of the brain).
